Born 1985 in Pistoia, Italy

 Studies in Engineering (University of Pisa), Certificate as “Expert for the development of energy conservation systems” (ASEV Empoli)

Marco focused on aspects of renewable energies, computer sciences and new technologies by working in different sectors during his university years. In 2011 he achieved the qualification of “Technician for the development of energy conservation systems” by attending a vocational training at the Development Agency of the Empolese-Valdelsa area. During an apprenticeship at an architecture firm, he gathered experience in the Italian energy market by managing the procedures to plan, design and realise photovoltaic systems, in order to access public funding programs.

Under the framework of the “AREE Mobili” project, funded by the European Social Fund, Marco took the opportunity for an internship at aiforia in Autumn 2011. He has been working for aiforia since January 2012, first as assistent and then as coordinator of technical tours to the city of Freiburg.

Fields of expertise:

• Communication of sustainability issues through development and design of web and printed media

• “Green City” – guided tours for international delegations to sustainability sights in Freiburg and the region

• Consultancy in the energy sector, with focus on renewable energy and on electricity markets in Italy and Germany

• Facilitation of good practice exchange on environmental, social, energy and land use issues in the frame of international cooperation projects

Marco is Italian native speaker, is fluent in English and has acquired a good command of German and Spanish.
